All the details you'll need to enter and enjoy the Scotton 100.
The Hell of the North (Yorkshire) is back!
On Sunday 9th April 2017 the Scotton 100 is BACK... But not like you've seen it before. Timed sections, hot food, goodies and the best mixed terrain riding around, yes the Scotton 100 is BACK!!
It's the mix of tarmac, bridleway, farm track and 'whites' that marks the Scotton 100 as more than just another sportive. Leaving Staveley and riding in a clockwise loop taking in Brimham Rocks, Ripon, Top Cliffe and Great Ouseburn, you won't have time to appreciate the scenery as you'll be working hard to beat your mates!
The route is marked with arrows and there'll be a new element to the ride... For the first time, this year there's also timed sections! You'll get your usual finishing time but now you'll be able to see how your efforts stacked up against everyone else on the ride. Lets call it extra motivation to go for it!
We're being super nice and even providing you with a GPX file of the route, this will be available a week before the event... FOLLOW SOMEONE ELSE AT YOUR PERIL!
Well, here's something to think about... depending on the weather the route can throw up very different conditions. If it's dry then the sandy parts of the course can be tricky on normal road tyres and lightweight wheels. Saying that, you'll find it easier on the road sections. If it's wet, well all bets are off!
Well done, you've survived the Hell of the North (Yorkshire)... What do you want now? Well, you'll be given a bundle of goodies and a plate of warm food. You've certainly earned it! Never fear, there's also toilets and changing facilities at the church hall, you'll have to wait until you're home to wash off the dirt though, those are your marks of victory anyway.
Up for the challenge? That's good. Entries open on New Years Day through the British Cycling website and places are VERY limited. When entries are live, click on the button below to sign up. Good luck, we'll see you on the start line.
