Great News! Time Trials to resume 16th July 2020.
There will be changes to how the events are run to ensure everyone's safety, including:
- No Pusher-Off provided
- Payment to be made online - no cash - see payment instructions below
- Bring your own pen to sign in
- Bring your own safety pins - you will get either a disposable number or a number that is fixed for the season
- Keep a social distance of at least 2m
- No static warm-ups
- Also new CTT rule: you must have a working red rear light otherwise you can't ride the event.
Other news: the August Wheldrake events will be run by Clifton CC not YCW - a big thank you to Clifton taking this on.

Our time trial league is run in conjunction with Clifton Cycling Club. It is a series of 18 events run on Thursday and Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm. Clifton Cycling Club organises the majority of the events as a club league under the rules and regulations of the CTT.
There are three new courses this year one hilly from Crayke to Yearsley and the other two on the A168 near Boroughbridge.
YCW organise two flat 10m events in Wheldrake, plus a further four events in August that are not included in the league. British Cycling members of YCW are welcome to take part at all the events, as are members of Clifton Cycling Club, York Triathlon and Malton Wheelers. You simply turn up, put your name on the starting list and pay your £5.
There are a few rules we ask you to follow. No drafting. Obey the rules of the road - marshalls are only there to point you in the right direction. Finally, save one last breath to SHOUT out your number as you cross the finish line - this greatly helps the timekeepers.

- All events start at 7:30pm with exception of the Bishop Wilton hill climb which starts at 11am.
- Entry on the line only - £5 seniors, £2 under 18’s.
- All riders must be a member of Clifton CC, YCW (or invited Club) - you may be asked to show your membership card when you sign on.
- Under 18’s must hand in a Parental Consent form before the start of their first event (1 form for the whole series).
- Under 18’s must wear a helmet in all CTT events.
- Minimum age is 12 years (riders aged under 13 must be accompanied to the event by a parent/guardian).
- Series promoted under the Rules and Regulations of Cycling Time Trials (CTT).
- Riders are required to display a red light to the rear. Modern LED lights are very powerful, weigh very little but greatly improve safety.
Volunteering
We need people to organise events, time keep and help out on the night with marshalling, pushing off etc. It's not too early to volunteer - the events can't go ahead without you! Volunteer organisers will receive a £25 donation for each event organised. The timekeepers will receive a donation of £10 per event. Volunteers who have not officiated and who may be apprehensive will be supported by experienced organisers, marshals etc., who will act as "buddys". Getting involved is a great way to support the Club.
