The tread design takes inspiration from the Scorpion XC RC, with a focus on achieving higher speeds on straight lines and improved grip when cornering off-road.The SpeedGRIP Compound used in this tyre is a special rubber formula developed by Pirelli for gravel racing. It draws on the brand's expertise in the World Rally Championship, where both speed and grip are vital. The gravel-specific compound is based on the MTB-specific SmartGRIP Compound, with a reduction in rolling resistance. This formulation strikes a balance between energetic efficiency and grip, resulting in a predictable performance both on and off-road.To create the most advanced gravel casing, Pirelli's engineers combined technologies from road-specific reinforced casings and MTB-specific casings. They used special fabric reinforcements and thicker layers of rubber in specific areas of the tyre. This combination provides excellent puncture resistance, addressing the most common causes of punctures on both road and off-road surfaces.
